Indoor Air Quality Testing

Did you know that the air you’re breathing can be an indicator of hidden mold in your home or building? Undetected mold and fungus can cause numerous health problems and building deterioration if left untreated. Air quality testing is one method we use to determine the mold and/or fungal environment in your home or property. Not only can it reveal the types of mold spores or fungus, but also their concentration levels in the air.

How is it done?

MoldGone inspectors use state-of-the-art equipment to collect and analyze air samples. After the samples are collected, they are sent to an independent third-party laboratory for analysis. This ensures that results are accurate and objective. You, the customer, will then receive a detailed report from the lab that is easy to read and understand. Typically, our air testing service includes 3 indoor samples.

What if the results show mold or fungus?

Not to worry! MoldGone is a full-service mold remediation and reconstruction company. If results show mold or fungal spores, we will determine the source of the mold and thoroughly remove it. Sometimes mold/fungus remediation requires demolition and removal of contaminated areas. Luckily, our team has licensed contractors that offer construction services and full project management, making the hassle of reconstruction a lot simpler for you!

“I have never worked with a more responsive, honest and knowledgable professional. After we emailed Jon an appointment request, he immediately responded, came to our home the next morning during the one-hour window he gave us (in fact, he even emailed us that morning to give us an exact time during that one-hour window!) and he inspected our carpet. While he found some mold, he said that it did not rise to the level of being a health risk, so he said that remediation was not necessary although he gave us a proposal just in case we still wanted to go forward. He also recommended other things that could help us prevent mold in the future. He did not charge us a penny for the inspection and absolutely did not push remediation (in fact, he basically steered us away from spending the money!). “If you are looking for an excellent mold company, go no further. This is very reputable company. I worked with Mike and he was very professional. He came to do an inspection and gave me a reasonable quote with a nice discount. This is a small company of 18 employees who take pride in their work. Three workers were there exactly when they were supposed to be --7:20 AM on an icy morning! The work proceeded and the only surprise was that I had no insulation.(old house) They put that in and mold-proofed everything. Then they put everything back the way it was. I couldn't even tell that partial walls had been torn out, drywalled, and painted again. They finished when they said they would around 12:30 PM. Q: How would I know if my air quality needs to be tested?

A: Sometimes we recommend air quality testing if you suspect mold (like a damp, musty odor) but can’t immediately see visual signs of it. If you know your home or property has had a mold/fungus issue in the past and think it may have returned, or if you experienced recent water damage, it could be beneficial. It’s also helpful in ruling out the cause of unknown allergies to you or others living in the space – some molds and fungi can cause mild reactions like sneezing, sore/itchy eyes, nasal congestion, rashes, and more serious reactions like headaches, memory loss, dizziness, trouble concentrating, and even hearing loss.

Q: How long does it take to get the results from the lab?

A: Once we send the samples to the lab, they are usually back within 3-5 business days.

Q: Do I need air quality testing if you’re already treating my home or property for mold?

A: If we find mold during a visual inspection, usually that is sufficient evidence for remediation and we do not need further air quality testing. However, we’re happy to do it as an additional service if you need it for inspection purposes, or if you want to be extra thorough in your mold remediation process.
