Common Mold Situations We Handle

Whether you've spotted visible growth or received a positive test result, MoldGone has the expertise to handle any mold scenario.

Visible Mold Growth

Black, green, or white patches on walls, ceilings, or other surfaces indicate active mold colonies that need professional remediation.

Water Damage & Flooding

Leaks, burst pipes, or flooding events create the perfect conditions for mold. Fast response prevents extensive contamination.

Basement & Crawl Space Mold

Below-grade spaces trap moisture and breed mold. We access and treat crawl spaces, basements, and foundation areas most companies avoid.

Attic & Roof Leak Mold

Roof leaks and poor ventilation turn attics into mold hotspots. We remediate the contamination and address the moisture source.

Bathroom & Kitchen Mold

High-humidity rooms are prime targets. We treat mold behind tiles, under sinks, and in walls where moisture accumulates unnoticed.

HVAC & Ductwork Mold

Mold in your HVAC system spreads spores throughout your entire property. We treat ductwork and air handlers to stop contamination at the source.

Mold Remediation FAQs

Answers to common questions about our mold remediation process, pricing, and timeline.

Can mold really make me sick?

Yes. Depending on the type and scope, mold exposure can cause allergic reactions like sneezing, sore eyes, and nasal congestion, as well as more serious issues like headaches, memory loss, dizziness, and difficulty concentrating. It's not worth the risk to live with mold in your home.

Can I treat the mold myself?

A mold issue can be like an iceberg — you might see a little, but there could be a much larger problem hidden from view. Home remedies often don't eradicate the whole problem and it can come back or worsen. It's always best to let a professional determine the full scope and fix it completely.

How long does it take to fix a mold problem?

It depends on the scope. We can usually evaluate and estimate within 2 business days. Some projects are simple while others require substantial removal and reconstruction. We'll give you a clear timeline in your proposal.

Do you always have to demolish moldy materials?

Not always. Some problems can be fixed with surface treatments, while others need to be removed and reconstructed to fully eradicate the mold and prevent it from spreading to nearby areas. We assess each situation individually.

How quickly can you respond to my appointment request?

We return calls within 1 business day and try to fulfill appointments within 2 business days. We also offer Saturday appointments from 7am to 4pm.

Do I pay upfront or after services are complete?

It depends on the scope. All work over $5,000 requires a minimum deposit before work begins. For smaller projects, payment is handled upon completion.

What areas do you service?

MoldGone serves the entire Washington D.C. metropolitan area, including Northern Virginia, and Montgomery, Howard, Baltimore, Anne Arundel, and Prince George's counties in Maryland.
